CHAUVET®, a leading manufacturer of LED lighting for more than 20 years, announced today 80 of their COLORado™ 1-Tri Tour light fixtures will be used at the Sony 3D pavilion at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton City/Johannesburg, and will be up until July 11, 2010, the end of the World Cup.
The pavilion is one of seven placed around the world to celebrate the first-ever 3D production of the World Cup—the first to be played on African soil. The pavilions, with 280 inch 3D LED screens, are part of "3D world Created by Sony" and will show highlights of the 25 matches filmed during the event, live entertainment and the world premiere of the music video for "Waka Waka", the official 2010 World Cup song performed by Shakira featuring Freshlyground.
The COLORado™ 1-Tri Tour features 14 3-watt tri-color LEDs, which eliminate multi-colored shadows and produce an extremely flat and smooth wash field. PowerCon™ connections offer fast and positive hook-ups for hanging and the fixture is housed in a durable tour case. The COLORado™ 1-Tri Tour has 3, 4, 5, or 10 channels of DMX control and the ability to recall custom programs as well as built-in automated programs. Additionally, the LED display is password protected and the fixtures operate silently—ideal for use in televisions studios and churches.
The production company Gearhouse South Africa was tapped to produce the pavilion launch and the CHAUVET® distributor Audiosure supplied them with the COLORado™ 1-Tri Tour fixtures. Both companies are based in South Africa. Web Link: www.chauvetlighting.com |
