The sweltering temperature may have sapped much of the energy out of south-eastern Europe, but it didn't stop High End from making a splash with its new Showgun lighting system.
From a distance, the LC series resembles a conventional large-panel display. However, it is built using rows of vertical tubes fitted with LEDs, in-between which air, smoke and other effects can flow. Put it in front of a brightly illuminated background and it becomes almost invisible.
The recent Live Earth concert posed a challenge: how to get standard household fluorescent lighting to run off a DMX control desk. Philips wanted to demonstrate high efficiency domestic lighting - how did they overcome the technical hurdles?
DTS is the main supplier of moving heads that will light Singapore's National Day Parade on 9th August. 382 wash, spot and arc projectors will ensure a flood of colour and help the various concerts, parades and son et lumière spectaculars to pass off in grand style.
Robe has supplied a range of moving heads and LED displays to illuminate St James Power Station, an entertainment venue situated in Singapore's southern HarbourFront area. The station began life in 1927 as the colony's first coal-fired power plant, and re-opened as an entertainment complex in 2006.
The television format 1 vs. 100 is known in Italy as Uno Contro Cento, and Clay Paky was commissioned to create the atmosphere the show requires. Riccardo Barbaglio, Director of Photography, used Clay Paky moving bodies: 16 Alpha Spot HPE 1200, Alpha Wash 575, 10 CP Color MH, as well as about fifty Stage Zoom 1200 and Stage Color 1200.
