PRG organizes London Eye fireworks display
London gets 2008 off to a blazing start
Published: 13 January 2008
As has become the custom since its construction, the London Eye again served as the focal point for the 2007/8 New Year celebrations, with a fireworks spectacular organized by PRG Europe.
The decision to locate the Eye on the bank of the river Thames was a stroke of genius. Prior to its erection, revellers used to congregate in Trafalgar Square. The Eye has since trumped that; this year, as before, PRG Europe mounted a display the equal of any world capital.
The display featured a three-hour light show in the run-up to midnight, followed by the the fireworks. The lighting used included VL5 arcs and 10kW Syncrolites.
