General Electric signs deal with Chauvet

GE to supply Showbiz lamps for Chauvet for entertainment and architectural lamp luminaries

Published: 24 November 2007

Entertainment lighting leader Chauvet has chosen GE Consumer & Industrial to be its primary supplier of metal halide discharge lamps. GE Showbiz CSR metal halide lamps will now fit the majority of Chauvet's signature, lamp-fitted luminaires, including the Q-series and Legend moving yokes, and the Spectrum architectural line. In addition to supplying lamps, GE engineers will assist in the design of future Chauvet optics.

"The lamps' superior quality, the strength of the GE brand name and the level of insight they have into optics have us excited about the possibilities," says Chauvet CEO Albert Chauvet. "Working closely with the engineering team at GE to develop new products and to optimize the systems and performance of our optical elements will allow our discharge fixtures to offer even greater value."

"Chauvet fixtures and GE lamps are a perfect complement to one another and a great fit for club, touring and architectural applications," says Gerry Schuh, Showbiz product manager. "The combination provides the visual excitement these applications demand while giving customers greater flexibility and reliable operation."

Chauvet is a major innovator, developer and manufacturer, leading the lighting entertainment market in terms of design, flexibility and options. Its formula is simple: the right products at the right price. Sold through a network of highly professional dealers and distributors, the Chauvet brand has a global reach built around three core tenets: value, innovation and performance. Chauvet offers professional moving yokes, scanners, wash lights and controllers while also actively pursuing new technologies and markets in LED, laser and architectural illumination.

GE offers a family of Showbiz lamps for moving-lights applications that call for high color temperatures and brighter light sources. Precise chemical dosing in all Showbiz CSR lamps produces stable lamp color temperatures over the life of the products, and ensures consistent performance in all types of fixtures. They have also now added Showbiz CSR 1500/S/DE/60 short, double-ended metal halide lamp to its growing family of lamps for moving-lights applications. The entire line of short, double-ended lamps from GE feature the same overall length, light-center length, base, shape, and a choice of colour temperatures to offer greater flexibility for manufacturers and other professionals concerned with focal points, development of innovative fixture designs or the design of event lighting.
